For three decades, MJ Design & Building has worked alongside private clients, country-house architects and family offices to realise residences of singular ambition. Our remit is narrow by design—new-build private homes, period-property refurbishment and substantial extension—and is delivered with the discretion such commissions properly require.
Many of our projects are undertaken under non-disclosure. References are furnished in confidence to qualified enquirers, and to their architects and surveyors, upon request.
A house is built but once. We treat every commission accordingly.

How a commission proceeds
Four stages. No surprises.

Consultation
An initial conversation, in confidence, to understand the site, the brief, the budget and the timetable.
ii.
Pre-construction
Buildability review, cost planning and programme, prepared alongside your architect and engineer before a price is fixed.
iii.
Construction
Delivered by our own site management, with regular reporting on progress, cost and quality from start on site to completion.
iv.
Handover
Snagging, certification and a complete health and safety file—the house delivered as it was promised.
